Álvarez Kelly es una película estadounidense de 1966, dirigida por Edward Dmytryk. Protagonizada por William Holden, Richard Widmark, Patrick O'Neal, Janice Rule y Victoria Shaw en los papeles principales.

Argumento

Durante la Guerra de Secesión, el ganadero mexicano Álvarez Kelly (William Holden) no se interesa por la guerra, excepto por el dinero que pueda ganar en ella. En una ocasión es contratado para llevar una manada de ganado en un largo trayecto, para entregarlo al ejército de la Unión, en la persona del mayor unionista Albert Steadman (Patrick O'Neal), que lo espera en una plantación en Virginia.

Pero el coronel confederado Tom Rossiter (Richard Widmark), que necesita desesperadamente del ganado para entregárselo a sus hambrientas tropas, los intercepta para apropiarse de la manada. El coronel contaba con la complicidad de la hija de dueño de la plantación, Charity Warwick (Victoria Shaw), para apropiarse y desviar el ganado para la Confederación. Amenazado con ser fusilado si no coopera, y luego de perder un dedo por un disparo del coronel Rossiter, Kelly debe obedecer y cruzar la llamada Línea Mason-Dixon; pero toma su venganza más tarde cuando ayuda a la disconforme novia de Rossiter, Liz Pickering (Janice Rule) a huir del territorio confederado.

Llegado el momento de abandonar la plantación, deben cruzar un puente que ha sido fortificado y está defendido por 500 soldados del mayor Steadman. Kelly decide provocar una estampida para poder cruzar el puente. Comienza entonces una sangrienta batalla, en la cual Kelly salva de la muerte a un oficial confederado, y Rossiter a su vez mata a uno sus propios soldados, que estaba por matar a Kelly. Finalmente Rossiter deja ir a Kelly.

Heavyweights (en el Brasil: Pesos Pesados) es una película norteamericano lanzado en 1995 del género comedia. Cuenta la historia de un grupo de chicos obesos que van para un campamento anual con el objetivo de adelgazar.

Como la escuela termina para el verano, Gerald Garner (Aaron Schwartz) es enviado por sus padres para el Campamento Esperanza, un campamento para pérdida niños obesos pierdan peso. A pesar de preocupante, en primer lugar, Gerry hace amigos fácilmente en el campamento y aprende que es realmente muy divertido y no será casi tan malo como él piensa. Él también descubre que la dirección del campamento esconde las comidas más calóricas para que los niños puedan perder peso más fácilmente.

Me las ni todo está bien en el campamento. Ya en la primera noche del campamento, viene a la tona la revelación de que los primeros dueños del local, Harvey (Jerry Stiller) y Alice Bushkin (Anne Meara), fueron a la suspensión de pagos y así, vendieron el campamento para el empresario Tony Perkis (Ben Stiller), que anuncia su plan para hacer el campamento como el nuevo centro de emagrecimento para niños, el mayor del país. Tony intenta convencer los niños de que son capaces de adelgazar, siendo que él había sido gordo en la infãncia.

Tony fiscaliza el cuarto de los campistas e incauta todos los alimentos llevados por ellos, corta sus contactos con el mundo exterior, e instala un ejercicio rígido que ignora diversão al punto de la humilhação.

Los campistas descubren un escondite secreto para entrar en la despensa del campamento y "robar" los dulces guardados. Tony los obliga afazer una caminada de 20 millas, alegando que es un trabajo para pérdida de peso y de raciocínio y disciplina. Sobre la caminada, los campistas arman un truco y Tony cae en una fossa, hiriéndolo severamente. Los niños intentan traer Tony de vuelta para el campamento y aprisioná-lo en una célula de pollo improvisado por hilos eletrificados.

En la conmemoración de la caída de Tony, hay un monte de compulsão alimentar. Los niños abusan de pizzas, sanduíches submarino, chocolates y etc.

En la mañana siguiente, Pat Finley (Tom McGowan), un consultor que comparece al campamento Esperanza todos los veranos desde que tenía 10 años, se anticipa para finalmente comenzar a tener responsabilidad y comenzar realmente a perder peso. Los niños comienzan a tener un régimen más saludable con la ayuda de Pat, y la diversão vuelta al lugar nuevamente. Después de Tony retirarse del campamento por la furia de los padres, Pat asume el liderazgo y organiza un emocionante campeonato de pérdida de peso entre los niños.

Obtuvo dos nominaciones al Oscar, a la mejor actriz principal (Ava Gardner), y a la mejor actriz de reparto (Grace Kelly).

Argumento

Vic Marswell (Clark Gable) es un cazador que organiza safaris. En su pequeño hotel se encuentra hace algún tiempo la atractiva Eloise Kelly (Ava Gardner), con la que Marswell ha iniciado una relación. Llega un matrimonio estadounidense que ha contratado los servicios de Marswell para filmar gorilas en libertad. La esposa (Grace Kelly) queda impresionada por el maduro cazador y se enamora perdidamente de él. A su vez, Marswell se siente halagado y se cree también enamorado de ella. Eloise Kelly contempla esta situación con celos, dolor e incredulidad. Parece que las relaciones entre ambas parejas se van a romper irremediablemente.

Miscelánea

Como curiosidad, en el doblaje al castellano en 1953, el código de censura español hace que cambien los diálogos de la película para evitar que se produzca adulterio en el argumento, y convirtió a Grace Kelly y a Donald Sinden en hermanos, en vez de en matrimonio.

Plot

Artie Strauss and Judd Steiner (Bradford Dillman and Dean Stockwell) kill a boy on his way home from school in order to commit the "perfect crime". Strauss tries to cover it up, but they are caught when police find a key piece of evidence — Steiner's glasses, which he left at the scene of the crime. Famed attorney Jonathan Wilk (Orson Welles) takes their case, and saves them from hanging by making an impassioned closing argument against capital punishment.

Big is a 1988 American romantic comedy film about a boy who makes a wish "to be big" to a magical fortune-telling machine and is then aged to adulthood overnight. Big is one of four age-changing comedies that were released in the late 1980s. It surpassed the success of Like Father Like Son (1987) starring Kirk Cameron and Dudley Moore, Vice Versa (1988) starring Judge Reinhold and Fred Savage and 18 Again! (1988), which starred comedian George Burns.

THX 1138 (1971) [DVDrip][Latino-Ingles-Frances]

THX 1138 is a 1971 science fiction film directed by George Lucas, from a screenplay by Lucas and Walter Murch. It depicts a dystopian future in which a high level of control is exerted upon the populace through omnipresent, faceless, android police officers and mandatory, regulated use of special drugs to suppress emotion, including sexual desire.

It was the first feature-length film directed by Lucas, developed from his student film Electronic Labyrinth: THX 1138 4EB, which he made in 1967 while attending the University of Southern California, which itself was based on a one and a quarter page treatment of an idea by Matthew Robbins.[citation needed] The film was produced in a joint venture between Warner Brothers and Francis Ford Coppola's then-new production company, American Zoetrope. A novelization by Ben Bova was published in 1971.
